[plug] SCSI emulation

Hi again,

I recompiled my kernel (2.4.16) to include SCSI emulation following the
instructions in a Maximum Linux article from Oct 2000. Everything seemed
just swell until I tried to "cdrecord - scanbus" - that didn't work.
Then I went on holidays vowing to fix it when I returned. Following and
article at www.infodrom.org/Linux/HOWTO/CD-Writing/ didn't help much,
and I can't seem to access the LDP at the moment. Seeing as I thought
that this would be a relatively easy problem to solve I thought that I
would ask the question: what have I got to do to get my machine to
recognise my IDE cdrom and cdr as SCSI? Don't I just have to edit
/etc/fstab so that it's no longer /dev/cdrom but /dev/scd0 ? Or have I
got everything wrong?

Any hints or how-to's appreciated.

Ta very much,

Sol
