I use apt-proxy at home for 1 server and 2 clients. All debian testing and 
it works fine over 56K modem.

Sometimes I had problems when calling apt-get upgrade at the same time from 
two clients but think that is fixed now. Havent done that again since.

There is a nice script to import an apt archive into apt-proxys own archive.
