On this hangs a tale...
A small drafting co in west perth which i did work for in the early '80s
started getting regular junk faxes from a marketing company. He scrubbed the
ID from his own machine, printed up a couple of pages saying 'STOP WASTING MY
PAPER' and `NO MORE JUNK FAXES', and at 8PM one night dialled their number,
fed the pages to his fax, taped the ends together, and went home. Early next
morning he arrived to the cheerful sound of a repeated busy signal, so he
cancelled the fax.
Later that morning, one of his clients - who happened to share an office
building with the fax-spammer - rang him and told him about the hilarious
sight of a bank of eight empty high-capacity fax machines and an office piled
waist-high with scrolls and curls of used fax paper.
I think a fingerprintless star-picket through the telephone mains and a stern
unsigned note might be more appropriate to these guys.
Cheers; Leon
