[plug] deleted inodes in X apps

I got the server up and running courtesy of debugfs (thanks Andrew F.). 
However, whilst fsck'ing hda3, the root partition, I had several deleted 
inodes which fsck cleared. These were mostly in X applications and so 
now I've got a few bugs. Notably "backspace" doesn't work. Neither does 
delete. Trivial in some ways, but a major PINTA if you're a goofy typist 
like me. :)
New configurations don't seem to fix the problem, at least none that 
involve xf86config or XF86Setup. Does this mean that I have to reinstall 
all the X apps effected, or is there another, less painful way to fix 
the problem?
