[plug] boot to usb flash then run linux as per linuxrouter??

just wondering:
"magicram.com" say it's possible to boot directly to their usb flash
"linuxrouter.org" say "LRP is based upon media insestive scheme.  As long as 
it can boot and be mounted by Linux, and if it can hold enough, use can use 
it. 1.44MB Floppies, ZIPs, LS-120's, flash ram cards, hardives, etc will all 
work."

Would it be possible to set this up to work from a notebook or is it just too 
hard?
