The one thing this and most people talking of journalling fs's do not
make clear is that a periodic fsck is still a good idea, because there
are circumstances (like nascent disk failure) where no journalling can
help. Even ext3's inventor does not recommend disabling periodic full
fsck checks on ext3 filesystems - or any other journalling filesystem:
