Follow-ups to questions people asked, plus a place to get the slides:

1)
On using attributes vs using elements, the definitive reference page is:
http://xml.coverpages.org/elementsAndAttrs.html
(follow the links at the foot of the page for more discussion of the
issues)

2)
Experimental. If something breaks, you get to keep the pieces:
The auto-install page for adding LCA links to your Tasks menu in Mozilla
0.9.8 (untested in other versions) is at:
http://www.twobluedots.com.au/colin/plug/confmenu.html
NB: The install requires you to be running Mozilla as root (after that,
it will appear on the menu for all users); if that bothers you, either
don't do it, or unzip the .xpi file:
http://www.twobluedots.com.au/colin/plug/confmenu.xpi
and read through it to make sure you're happy with what it does before
you install it.

3)
DocBook to latex:
http://db2latex.sourceforge.net/
I haven't tried this, Mark - perhaps it's something you've already tried
and found inadequate?

4)
XML Signing and Encryption:
http://www.w3.org/TR/xmldsig-core/
(The Transforms/Transform element can be used to specify encryption
prior to signing)
And coming up is:
http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlenc-core/

5)
The talk slides are on the Web.
In OpenOffice format:
http://www.twobluedots.com.au/colin/plug/20020313-slides/slides.sdd
In StarOffice 5.2 format:
http://www.twobluedots.com.au/colin/plug/20020313-slides/slides.sda
As HTML:
http://www.twobluedots.com.au/colin/plug/20020313-slides/slides.html

Anything I forgot, or any broken links above, let me know.

Colin
