I have found that most cdrw's use the generic ide drivers. my mandrake 8+
has no problem with the acer cdrw I use.

the couple of times I have tried nVidea drivers, there were big challenges
getting the card to be stable. I end up selling it and bought Matrox. I am
now using Matrox cards and never had a problem.

I have always used netgear and 3com cards with no problem. would not
recommend any cheepies.
