[plug] pine 4.44 on RH7.3

Does anyone know whether there is a log file for pine 4.44? It is
running on RH 7.3.

During archiving on the 1st of November, it crashed each time, so
archiving was completed manually, by renaming folders and adding
folders, done within pine and checking new file names, character by
character.

Today, when logging into pine and downloading emails, pine crashed
during the filtering. This all happened with Bret, who has about 1100
messages, totalling 3MB of emails, to download, and about 80 filters and
folders.

In checking the /home/bret/ directory, no core file was found, and no
.pine-debug file was found. When Bret tried to use the -d (for debug)
switch on pine, it returned a message stating that pine was not compiled
with debugging. Pine was installed from a downloaded tarball of the
binary, already compiled, from the washington.edu site.

Searching the /home/bret/ and /var/log/ directories, did not indicate
the presence of a log file for pine, to show what was happening, leading
to the crashes. /var/log/messages shows only the session login at the
tty terminal; not either running pine, or the crashing.

So, does anyone know whether a log file exists for pine, for monitoring
its operations?

Thanks in anticipation.
