'lo all,

I'm attempting to set up a ftp server that mac, windows and linux clients
can connect from.

The service is installed and I can connect but I get:
# ncftp -u name server
NcFTP 3.1.3 (Mar 27, 2002) by Mike Gleason (ncftp at ncftp.com).
Connecting to 134.7.142.122...

This is server - Unless your name is Carl bugger off
Logging in...

Password requested by x.x.x.x for user "user".

    Please specify the password.

Password: *********

Login successful. Have fun.
Sorry, I don't do help.

Logged in to server

ncftp /home/hits > ls
connect failed: Connection refused.
Falling back to PORT instead of PASV mode.
Could not accept a data connection: Connection timed out.
List failed.

I get something very similar from ftp.

I had this problem with vsftpd, wu-ftpd and bsd-ftpd.

The bizarre thing is the cli ftp under windows works and so do all the wtp
clients I have tried.

Ideas??

Carl
