Topic: Securing Your Linux Box
As linux becomes adopted by more and more end users and small
businesses, the number of vulnerable linux boxen grows to frightening
numbers. This talk, suitable for both beginners and advanced linux
users, covers several aspects of securing your linux box - be it a
corporate server or home desktop machine, including firewalls, package
management, tcp wrappers and daemon security.
Paul Raj Khangure (PRK) studied Computer Science (amongst other things)
at UWA, before being lured away by the real world. He's spent several
years working as a Network Engineer / System Administrator at a couple
of Perth ISPs, before branching out and setting up his own consulting
company - Perq Pty Ltd.

Get to know your fellow system administrators.
We shall meet at the back of the pub at about 6pm. The talk/discussion
shall start at about 6:30 in the RAINE room. After the talk some
light food will be available. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.
