Now that you mention ISAM, from memory, FORTRAN-77 could access ISAM 
files. Now, THAT is a great programming language, better than all 
this newfangled stuff; 4GL's, like seaplusplus and deeflat and geesharp, 
etc... 
;)

ISAM is just a file format, not a DBMS, from memory....

Anne has worked with C-ISAM, but I do not know much of that.
