HP use OEM IBM IDE disks (in our machines anyway), every single one in every
single HP machine has died. They replace them with non IBM/HP drives now.
Ditto for IBM SCSI (100% failure so far). If you make a point of keeping
them *WELL* below normal operating temperature (think freezer), they seem to
last a *bit* longer.
I'd crack out a bucket full of fans and even peltiers if it were me :)
All personal experience of course, YMMV.
