OUTLINE:

The idea behind the .NET Community of Practice is to
bring together people who are interested in, or use,
the .NET framework. At each meeting we will have
someone giving a short presentation on a topic
relating to .NET, which will hopefully provoke some
interesting discussions. By providing a forum for
bringing together ideas, techniques and questions
SEAWA together with Power Business Systems hope to
create a community of practice, which will benefit the
local IT industry.

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:

JAVA / .NET Community of Practice Debate

This special event will be run in debate style with
two teams of three, one supporting .NET and the other
JAVA. Teams will alternate, with each speaker having 4
minutes to put forward the advantages, best features
or other facets of the technology that would encourage
a developer to select that technology. Second and
third speakers will rebut, with the third speaker
given an additional minute with which to conclude the
arguments presented by the team.

At the conclusion of this debate, the audience will be
able to field questions to both teams so as to
encourage friendly discussion of the technologies. We
are hoping to encourage healthy non-argumentative
discussion on the future of programming technologies.

This will also be the inaugural meeting of the JAVA
Community of Practice.

NOTE: Please feel free to forward this invitation to
anyone who might have an active interest in .NET
technology.
