[plug] printer spool needs clearing?

enjoyed the printer driver exchange.   What I need is to:

clear out the spool (maybe df and cf files), and
deal with:   "Queue: no printable jobs in queue                             
        and the next job won't start
                     status: job `rhyellin at localhost+194' saved at 
23.55.10."

on a HP DeskJet 500 using HP PCL(Level III) language and LPrng, which 
sometimes stops when "lpq" then "lprm" is used.  Where is it saved and how 
to reverse it?

Can somone please help?
