Hi John,
As I you undoubtably know - if disk space was not a problem you would
just do a regular knoppix hard disk install (how to for that below *) so
you could add or remove programs.

As you can only spare 750mb space my guess is you would:
copy the files over (cp -a ....) and then boot to another device (a
Knoppix cd or a floppy that can read their files system - reiser I
think), chroot to the knoppix and run lilo or grub (sorry I forget
which) so it can boot and find the kernel.
