Hmm. My laptop's been on 2.6 for a while now, and it works a _lot_ 
better. More responsive (feels 'faster'), better power management (APM 
only for now, haven't tried 2.6 swsusp or ACPI yet), etc.

If you do so, MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR LVM1 UTILITIES so that you can 
go back to 2.4 if something goes wrong. I got bitten by this when 
testing 2.5.something on a cold-spare server a while ago.

There is an SRPM on kernel.org that's backward compatable and works 
perfectly on all my systems (RH9 and FC1) so you can save a bit of 
trouble by using that.

There were some changes to the mouse driver that makes it try to 
identify specific types of mice and work better with them. I expect 
that'll be the cause - I find the same thing. OTOH it can cause problems 
with some "generic" unrecongnised mice, or did at one stage.
