Have you considered using a database instead? Spreadsheets really aren't 
  made for handling huge blocks of data.

Of course, a spreadsheet provides a much nicer front-end than a raw 
database. I'm comfortable with SQL for most stuff, but you should'nt 
have to be just to work with the data.
