Heh, I'm replying to my own e-mail now... :P Forget what I said in that 
last e-mail... I must've missed the bit where u said u updated lilo. :D

In that case, I guess you must've missed something essential in the 
kernel (video drivers perhaps?). Go back thru the config and make sure 
you have all options set as required - read the help notes if you need 
to and google + IRC for more info.
