Hi Quintin

I did a search of the PLUG archives using this:

http://www.plug.org.au/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=3

It searched 36815 emails (all years) and found 27 references including
a response from Phil Steege:

etc etc ..

I don't know of a Dreamweaver equivalent under Linux, but you can run the
original Dreamweaver under Linux using wine.

At the Frank's World webpage at http://franksworld.net/wine/index.php I
found the following instructions on how to do that.

This assumes you have a Dreamweaver CD.

Title: Macromedia DreamWeaver 4

Tested Wine Version: 20020605

1. First you must install DCOM95. This is needed to make the installation
program work.
Get it at:
http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/dcom/95/x86/en/dcom95.exe

2. Installation is easy. Just type wine dcom95.exe to install DCOM95
3. After DCOM95 is installed you're ready to install Dreamweaver.
4. Type wine dreamweaver\ 4.exe to install Dreamweaver.
5. Now type wine dreamweaver.exe in the installation directory to run
Dreamweaver.

Notes:
The use of the color dialog in the properties windows causes Dreamweaver to
crash, Use Text->color from the menu instead.

Hi all,

Is there a Linux alternative for Dreamweaver?

The archives take a while to search but are always worth a look.
That was back in July. Dave may be able to tell you how he got on.
