I like NEdit as it has a very powerful search/replace (if you know regexps), 
and good syntax hilighting.
But I usually end up using Kate because I'm an AA Font Slut and haven't seen 
an AA'ed NEdit yet. Oh, and Kate has FISH support, which I now use a LOT. 
^_^;;
(On the down-side, Kate's search/replace isn't so powerful, and can cause 
infinite loops, and the syntax hilighting seems both a little buggy, and 
REALLY slow on large files.)
