Heh...

just did a report on the quarrantine dir of our mail virus scanner with
a new linux-based one called f-prot, just to make sure it performs ok.
The result, after a bit of perl-mangling:

    1165 W32/Klez.H at mm
     241 W32/Bugbear.A at mm
     121 W32/Hybris.worm.B
      49 W32/Magistr.28672 at mm
      40 W32/Bridex.A at mm
      32 W32/Magistr.32768 at mm
      25 W32/Lentin.F at mm
      21 W32/Badtrans.B at mm
       9 W32/Sircam.worm at mm
       5 W32/MyLife.B
       5 W32/Hybris.worm.D
       4 EICAR_Test_File
       3 W32/Nimda.E at mm
       2 W32/Sheer.A at mm
       2 W32/Aliz.A
       1 WM/NF.A
       1 W97M/Marker.D
       1 W32/MTX.9244.worm.A
       1 W32/Klez.E at mm
       1 W32/Goner.A at mm
       1 W32/FBound.C at mm
       1 VBS/Exploit.C

(from
f-prot -list * | perl -p -e 's/^.*\s+Infection: (.*)\n?$/$1\n/' | sort |
uniq -c | sort -n -r )

Scary, when you look at that. That's less than a year's worth for us.
We're moving to linux workstations in accounting for a reason, and
licensing is only part of it.
