I've been following this with some worry on the Register
(www.theregister.co.uk) and it appears that they want Chapter 11 protection
(or French equiv), which allows them to break disadvantageous alliances and
fire staff, without all the usual penalties. Seems as though they were in
expansion mode when the dot bust thing happened and caught them short of
cash flow. They are almost breaking even according to the stuff I saw.
But you are correct, it'll sadden me if they go under. It really is a nice
distro to install. If only they didn't install that silly service to turn
on the num-lock.
