echo $?

f-prot reports 3 if it finds a virus, 0 for normal exit, don't know 
about others.

BTW, while you'll be able to scan NTFS volumes you won't be able to 
disinfect them since linux can't write to NTFS (v. recent ntfs modules 
can overwrite w/o changing file size but that's the best you'll get for 
now).
