Ok, one of mine works on SETI at home while I snooze - the other usually
snoozes while I do. ;)
I wasn't saying that it shouldn't be done, I was just querying the
usefulness of the test. It's easy enough to do and, as Cameron said, it'd
be a comparison point to XP.

Again I doubt the usefulness (but you can persuade me). I doubt that any
dyed-in-the-wool XYZ-distro user will change distros to shave 2 minutes off
boot time. (S)/he might, however, take the effort to fiddle the services at
bootup to minimise the time.
Again just my $0.02.
