[plug] Leaving list

My argument to Telstra about satellite phones and other alternatives: if
they installed quality copper in the first place, used correct sealants,
made sure the job was done properley etc etc we wouldn't need to look at
their other services because the copper would do the trick for your average
analogue modem connection.

When I hear about dodgy connections I remember the thing on the news once, I
think it was Today Tonight or something, where that guy's phone line was
slung over a fence or three, through a small creek, across a paddock where
cattle used to trample blah blah....he stood next to a paddock anchor post
and lifted the "installed line" with his hand, you could see it dangling and
disappearing into thick grass.
