It'd be nicer again if the GnomeVFS and KIOSlave frameworks played well
together, avoiding the need to code to one or another, and reducing
wasted dupilcate effort. What about a VirtualIO backend with KIOSlave
and GnomeVFS API layers so that both can share the same capabilities?
Don't know if it'd be practical, but it'd be awfully nice. Especially if
the base IO virtualisation layer could be independent of the GNOME and
KDE libraries, so it could be used for general applications on Linux or
even other UNIXes.
Just imagine - every app having the /same/ view of the available
filesystem(s), real and virtual.
Next thing we'd be having consistant file load and save dialog boxes!
(if only...)
