Well,
I'm too lazy to be clever, so rather than stare at a
config file trying to guess what's wrong, I'd try some testing.
If you suspect name resolution, then an nslookup (or even a ping)
can provide clues about what information (if any) these machines
are receiving about hte location of "www".
Otherwise, for people with commercial scale problems, I usually
direct them to the excellent and reasonably priced support
from businesses such as LinuxIT (Matt and Scott) or Cyberknights (the
notorious Leon Brooks.)
