What version of bind are you using.

'www     IN      CNAME   gateway' is another way of saying 
www.gateway.mmtnetworks.com.au. Is the web server on this machine or are 
you trying to get to www.mmtnetworks.com.au. If you are trying for 
www.mmtnetworks.com.au then 'www     IN      A    203.153.229.84' should 
work. www.mmtnetworks.com.au has address 203.153.229.84.
