[plug] reinstalling the linux boot

Hi All

You may recall me asking advice about preserving the boot up procedure to
get Linux after reinstalling WindowsME. Well, something went terribly wrong
and ME became unusuable and I couldn't save the advice some of you gave.

I installed WindowsXP, which is working much better than ME, but the Grub
multi-boot thingy disappeared. Using Explorer2fs I see the Grub folder is
still there, but this prog won't let me move vmlinux over to the Windows
side to use with Loadlin, as suggested on some site.

tomsrtbt gets some linux command line up via the floppy, but apparently one
must mount the linux partitions. Tom kindly gave some idea what to do, but
was a bit Spartan and I am reluctant to press him for more details.

Bootitng doesn't give me a bootable Linux name.

When I try to start the Linux install cds I get rebooted into WindowsXP all
the time. Has anybody managed to install linux on a box with XP in it?

So there you are. I can get files from the Linux side, but I can't boot into
it, just yet. Any ideas?

Thanks

Dene
