I do change the way I represent things when dealing with the big
companies. I tell them that 8.2 is 8.0 with the online mandatory and
recommended patches already applied... :-)

Only a *little* white lie.

They're used to it.  After all, they employ 22 year olds with 45
years' experience in IT, and pay them $28,000 p.a.

Install 8.0. Run the online update. The packages installed for 8.0
are the same as for 8.2 - for the most part.
