Just for comparison with my lilo machine:
 505743 Sep 22 16:56 System.map-2.4.18
  34816 Sep 22 17:06 map
1027435 Sep 22 16:56 vmlinuz-2.4.18

Just FYI, my /etc/lilo.conf contains map=/boot/map (by default).
