[plug] How MS-Windows cost one man over $2000 - and he doesn't even use it

The POST has excellent results with iiNet's email service. We don't use
it, having given up, and now it's great ;-).

If you're on iiNet, host your own mailserver or expect unreliable,
apallingly slow mail. They need to double the size of their mailserver
cluster, and start doing some proactive monitoring.

As it is, I'm about to set up a secondary mailserver on
www.postnewspapers.com.au out at Indigo/AceOnLine so I can drop iiNet as
my secondary MX, too. 70% of my spam now comes through their
non-spam-filtered servers. Usually with date-stamps at least a day old ;-)

They provide OK service as a layer 3 network connectivity provider, but
I won't use them for much more than that. Oh, their DNS is utterly rock
solid as well - I think it might've gone down briefly a couple of years
ago, but that's it.

So Leon, my advice to you is to start looking into a local mail server
for your client. It's been an absolute wonder for the POST, and we rely
on email for a disturbing amount of our business.

I use Exim on the gateway/firewall, forwarding to
sendmail+MimeDefang+SpamAssassin+cyrus on an internal host. Keeps
sendmail from being directly reachable from the outside world, at least.
