[plug] WinXP NTFS resize ecperience?

Hi,

Anyone got experience (good/bad/ugly) with resizing a default WinXP (Pro
- NTFS I think) installation to put in some Linux goodness? I _think_
Mandrake can handle this resizing, but I only have fuzzy memories of
third hand heresay... Sticking in another drive isn't on because it is
not a dektop..

Does XP activation crap spit at the partition size changing? It will be
a genuine oem version with my (*salivates_in_anticipation*) new
notebook. I'm leaning towards the Tosh Tecra S1 1.5GHz which is XP Pro
afflicted.....

I don't want to use a pirate version of Partition Magic (or buy it!)
because I believe in _trying_ to respect licencing. Therefore using an
Open Source resizing tool from any given distro is preferable, even if
it is not Debian based.. I don't want to buy it because I'm too damn
tight OK? 8^)==

Reason I want to keep the XP there is to allow full comparisons to be
made to make sure that the Linux is properly using the hardware. An
example of where you might be prematurely happy is if there is a
subwoofer not being used...

Thanks in advance..

Garry
