Yep I met the guy from Muli and he is serious to release the base system
under an open source licence, I even think it is the GPL.

With this move they hope to get a bigger customer base and then provide
non-gratis training, support etc. But they release not the full
application but "only" the base system. Another revenue model for them
will be to seel add-ons etc.
