[plug] distro question: 'standard'?

I would still suggest Mandrake. Change the menu back to normal KDE if
you want to.
You neglected to say if they were an experianced computer user - if not,
anything else (including RedHat) could end up being a rod for your own
back - and a "change it back to windows please" the first time you are
not there!
been there, done that ...
