You should probably try to get a line quality test such as MOLDS (if
your phone line is provided by Helstra) performed.
Some ISPs provide a "line shape" graph you can consult for your
current connection. That's basically a frequency response which
should be fairly flat for optimum throughput. "Notches", sharp low-
or high-frequency roll-off indicate phone line problems.
