Which nicely raises another major benefit of free software - no source 
escrow, 'cos google, a mirror/cvs/whatever or some kind soul with packrat 
tendencies will be able to find enough software to CYA when the supplier 
vanishes.

Do TCO models take the lack of a need for this kind of disaster recovery 
into account when evaluating FOSS?

Probably not......
