I've setup two wiki's at the office - a sandbox and a production. All
the documentation for the office - from IT to business practices - is
entered into the sandbox wiki. When a section is complete it is reviewed
by the boss and then moved into the production wiki for general
consumption. The production wiki is set site-wide read-only. I've
install a few wiki's while I was deciding which to use and eventually
settled on usemod-wiki. Its a perl script with a moderate amount of
features, easy to setup and easy to use. The two main reasons I use
usemod-wiki is 1) it allows multiple "sites" from the one script, ie
multiple config files, etc. 2) it has excellent formatting, especially
the automatic numbering. This is important if your using the wiki for
business documentation.
As an aside, the boss and I now have a competition - the person who's
added the least amount of documentation to the wiki in the past week
buys the beer on friday.
Regards,
Adrian
