I'm sure it will be easier to use the modem via the ethernet port. Do
you know what chipset you LAN port is and if is working under Linux?
You should be able to view it with "ifconfig" under root.
Is the modem currently in router mode? If so it should give eth0 an IP
address from its built in DHCP.
