Just had a look at it its pretty much the same as chkconfig for Fedora 
or RH9.

#update-rc.d iptables default

Would theoretically get iptables loaded in all the multi-user boot up's?

So for rc.local as such if I'm understanding correctly just basically 
put my own script as S99MWcrap.

And just put all the stuff in that.
