How about installing the Sun JVM? Put it at 

/home/chris/eclipse/eclipsetrader/jre

since (inferring from the the Eclipse error message), Eclipse is
hard-coded to accommodate this path. A proper Java installation would
be better, but you don't seem to need it for anything other than
Eclipse.
