[plug] apt-get and Gnome2 issue

I am using Debian Testing as well.
Looking at the Deps of planner it requires Gnome <= 2.6, if you are
using Testing it may still be at 2.4.

I am using 2.8 and a simple apt-get install planner reveals this[1]
(note, planner is the same version in testing and unstable)

Maybe try upgrading gnome to 2.6, 2.8 or unstable. Try the packages it
wants to remove (like 'gnome-core gnome-panel nautilus') and see how
much would be upgraded. My installed versions are below [2]

If you want a list of other (gnome related) installed packages and
versions, just ask

Tim
