"emerge --resume" may help when restarting a current emerge - not sure
about multiple packages on the commandline, but it works for emerge -ep
and multiple dependencies, picking up where it left off
"emerge --resume --skipfirst" misses a package that breaks for some
reason and you want to continue on and pick it up later (if possible)
"emerge --newuse" will recompile only those packages that need it (I am
using this a lot att - neat!)
The "memory" is only of the last emerge that did not complete, the next
successful or failed emerge will overwrite with the current status.
