I disagree.  The most obnoxious of adverts can be avoided by primarily
watching the ABC or SBS; this has the additional advantage of the
programming being of generally higher quality than commercial telly.  On
the occasions where I do watch something on other channels, I generally
record it and fast forward through the ads.
