[plug] lost mail

Have a situation where an e-mail was sent on the 30th and 31st of Jan 2004, it  showed up in the logs on this date, but not in the users mailbox. However another e-mail was sent on the 5th of Feb not showing up in the initial logs (relaying server) but showing up in the logs of the user mail server and their mailbox.  Like to know how is this possible.

Summary

Mail Server-A received initial mail on 30th and 31st; entry in logs verify this, mail server-B and user mailbox did not receive mail; no entry in logs.
Mail Server-A did not receive mail on 5 Feb and no entry in logs, yet Mail Server-B and user receives mail and there is an entry in the logs to verify.

Anyone have an suggestions as to what has happened?
