  Did a find / -name '*inetutils-tools*' nothing found
  Did a find / -name '*net-tools*'
  Net-tools is installed
  
  Camerom suggested, do a 'dmesg | grep ^eth', which I did, got absolutely nothing.

  Interesting to say the least.
