[plug] Backimg up entire drive

Hello, 
 
I just want to check that this is going to  work before I waste the drive. There is no 
imporant data but the setup took some time and I do plan to restore it once I've 
finished using the drive for another project. 
 
Bascially I've gone: 
 
dd if=/dev/hdc of=/backup/seagate20gb.img 
 
I expect to do: 
 
dd if=/backup/seagate20gb.img of=/dev/hdc  
 
to restore. 
 
Is it this simple?
