If I was offered a (presumably high-end) laptop for $650, I wouldn't 
need to be told to be suspicious. When I bought my laptop, I called the 
police to check that the serial number wasn't registered as stolen - 
this is always a good idea. I do this as a matter of course when buying 
2/h. Also check for engravings.
