I'll probably go with B stuff at the start. An AP, plus one PCI card and one 
PCMCIA card come in at $200 from PLE, which is a reasonable amount to spend 
on what is basically an experiment at this stage.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which supplier or chipset to look out 
for? The cheap end of PLE's stock is labelled "Generic", which doesn't help 
much in choosing Linux compatible hardware.
